Day 10 Somewhere in the Coral Sea

This post is from February 17, 2024.

Today we spent entirely at sea as we cruise from the Solomon Islands to the island nation of Vanuatu. We had two lectures from expedition specialists today. The one this morning was from an anthropologist named Shirley Campbell who discussed the peopling of the South Pacific that took place from 50,000 years ago through 1000 A.D.. The talk this afternoon was from a national geographic photographer who is on board with us. His name is Johnathan Kingston and his talk was about his work over the past 20 years. Notably his work includes the discovery of Cortez’ lost fleet off of Veracruz Mexico.

In addition to these intellectual pursuits, are they also included good food, drink, and napping.

I just tried to get to the gym, but the single exercise bicycle available on the ship was in use so I will try again again in half an hour

The only reason I know about Vanuatu is that this nation is one of very few determined allies of Mr.Putin.
